2 smartphones from Korea are expected to ba the most “heavyweight opponents” using Android operating system in this year, but if you have to choose one only, which is your choice: G5 or S7?
After the impressive debut at MWC 2016, the top two smartphones from LG and Samsung are preparing to consumers. Galaxy S7 has launched in Vietnam since March 3 and is going to officially sell on March 18. Also, LG is expected to be released on March 16.
In this article, we will compare Galaxy S7 and LG G5 to decide which one is better choice for fans android in this year.
In spite of one of the worst smartphone in the quality of the metal, in this year, LG has equipped advanced aluminum for its G5. With the layout of camera, G5 has been compared a lot with Nexus 6P produced for Google by Huawei. About Galaxy S7, it has the same design as Galaxy S6 last year with metal edging and senior back made of glass.
It is sure to have different opinions about the concept of “good” or “bad”, but while the design of Galaxy S6 has been received a lot of positive response, design of Nexus 6P camera had many mixed reactions, and these reactions may be repeated with Galaxy S7 and LG G5. However, Galaxy S7 is not a “non-weaknesses” smartphone because it is easy to leave fingerprints when using and its back glass can be break if dropped.
In terms of size, the shape of G5 is significantly larger than Galaxy S7’s because the new premium LG has the larger 0.2 inch screen. Therefore, the level of convenience depends on what screen size you want only.
Comment: In general, Galaxy S7 and LG G5 is the admirable high-end design.
LG G5 has 5.3 inch screen whereas the screen of Galaxy S7 is only 5.1 inch. With the same QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, Galaxy S7 is sharper in theory but the PPI level of over 550 makes you are not able to find any differences between them.
About screen technology, Galaxy S7 uses AMOLED screen and LG G5 uses IPS LCD screen. While the quality of the IPS LCD is absolutely good, the visibility of AMOLED is still no rival at the moment. Theoretically, the Always-on technology available in both will also operate more reasonable on AMOLED screens.
Like old version, Galaxy S7 also has edge version with two curved edges screens. Both LG and Samsung are very active in testing new technologies for their smartphone screen, but at present, only Samsung products receive positive feedbacks.
Comments: 1 point for Galaxy S7. In spite of larger in size, lacks of hot screen technology in LG G5 is a cryptic weakness because LG already has many OLED high-quality designs.
Both of the top two smartphone from LG and Samsung are 820 Snapdragon processor and 4GB of RAM. In many Asian markets like Vietnam, Galaxy S7 has another choice: Exynos 8890. According to the tradition of the previous Galaxy S as well as the leaked benchmark results, Exynos 8890 has a superior strength compared to Snapdragon 820. However, architecture chip designers big.LITTLE (especially Samsung) are … fraud by activating all when detecting alternative benchmark instead of just using the 4 big or 4 LITTLE as in actual condition. Therefore, the actual power of Exynos 8890 may be similar with Snapdragon 820, and you can be absolutely assured that both of them are able to handle all the most heavyweight titles.
Unfortunately, LG launches the only memory option for G5 which is 32GB, while Samsung has added 64GB and 128GB options. Both smartphone can expand via microSD.
Another extremely important strength of Galaxy S7 is capable of liquid radiators. If the system works as expected, the Galaxy S7 achieves a lower temperature when running heavy applications. It means the ability to maintain better frame rates and degree of smooth.
Comments: 1 point for the Galaxy S7.
