What does AlphaGo help human by its artificial intelligence in the future life?
The victory of AlphaGo marked a new milestone in the development of technology in artificial intelligence after IBM Deep Blue computer beat the world chess champion Garry Kasparov in 1997.
AlphaGo software is in the project of artificial intelligence developed by DeepMind, the Google research team. AlphaGo uses algorithms to analyze options based on probability and combination of rules to make the right moves. The mode of operation of AlphaGo is simulated activities of human brain, which has ability to analyze lessons from mistakes to make better plans for next time. However, AlphaGo is not born just to play games. The goal of the Google Deepmind project is applying artificial intelligence in daily life.
Managing director of the Google Deepmind project, Demis Hassabis, said: “The algorithm developed aims to serve the needs of the public. We hope to use this advanced algorithm in the variety of fields like health care or scientific research”.
Minister of Chinese Science and Technolog, Wang Gang, said: “Both robot and artificial intelligence can replace human to do some work but they also help create new jobs, improve the quality, attract more and more people to do scientific research and help people learn about many new things in the world to be able to create better products and enjoy a better life”.
With Alpha and the Google DeepMind project, Demis Hassabis want to apply artificial intelligence in the important practical applications. In the short term, it could be a virtual assistant on the smartphone. In the medium term, it could be an equipment of diagnostic, weather forecast and natural disasters. In the long term, Hassabis aims to use the system of super-intelligent computers to help people create breakthroughs in scientific research, which normally would take centuries in a few years with artificial intelligence.
